Who am I?
Hi, my name is AJ! I began my design journey at UC San Diego, where I received my bachelor’s in cognitive science with a human-computer interaction focus last June, and I’m now building on that as a Human Centered Design & Engineering Master’s student at the University of Washington.
Throughout my journey, I’ve 'worn many hats' across the end-to-end design process, but I’ve found my sweet spot at the intersection of user research and visual design. Currently, I’m a Contract Designer at Treet, where I lead the visual execution of resale marketplaces for fashion brands.
On top of my UX background, I have a 6-year foundation in motion design. I use Adobe After Effects for personal kinetic typography projects, and I recently began learning Rive to create UX micro-interactions.
A lot of the work you see here doesn't reflect it quite yet, but my dream is to work in automotive UX. I want to be in the driver's seat when it comes to designing for the physical experience of a vehicle.
If you were wondering, the little blobby character on my home screen is a Pokémon called Ditto! It's one of my favorites. I modeled it myself using Spline.
My journey is just starting—I'm eager to get all the advice I can get. Feel free to reach out via the links below!
